Auditions for the 2019 DANCE PRESCRIPTION team are finally here! If your dancer is ready to take their technique and confidence to the next level whilst having an absolute BLAST, don't miss out on giving them the chance of a lifetime to be part of the best team ever!

DANCE PRESCRIPTION is an audition entry 12 month program based in Melbourne, Australia that has been specifically developed to enhance the dedicated dancer’s learning, technique, artistry and skills. Likeminded-individuals train together, challenging each other and themselves in order to become the best dancer that they can be. The focus is on building strength and confidence simultaneously in order to create exceptional dancers with bright futures.

This Accelerated Extension Program is like that of a Mathematics or English tutor for school work, and is to run in conjunction with the dancer’s regular dance school training, not replace it. It is a prerequisite for all DANCE PRESCRIPTION dancers to be attending regular classical ballet training of a high standard.

The DANCE PRESCRIPTION program consists of fortnightly group technique and conditioning classes run on weekends. Most classes are held on alternate Sundays with some private lessons scheduled throughout the week. There are two separate streams: one for ages roughly 9 and under (Preclinical Stream) and another for ages roughly 10 and above (Clinical Stream). There is some crossover between age groups which is ability and maturity dependent.

All assistants for Dr. Lisa Ellis' DANCE PRESCRIPTION workshops train as part of DANCE PRESCRIPTION and are selected from their hard work both inside and outside the classroom to travel nationally and internationally for the opportunity of a lifetime.

There are two scholarships awarded for each 12 month program. One scholarship provides the dancer with Group Classes free of charge for the entire year. The other provides the dancer with Private Consultations free of charge for the entire year. These scholarships are awarded based on merit and potential seen in auditions at the discretion of the director.

All dancers who have previously been selected as part of the DANCE PRESCRIPTION team must re-audition with all other dancers for consideration of acceptance for another year.

Interstate applicants are more than welcome.
